Volunteer General info

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for one of the largest and most dynamic Pride festivals in the nation. PrideFest Milwaukee 2019 will be even greater with your help.

General Areas of Volunteer Responsibilities :

Security Patrol– Patrol the festival, and report any issues to team captain. Scan bags at the gate. Assist with security access at various gates and stages. This position requires Volunteer to be 18 or older.

Accessibility Assistant– assist festival attendees with mobility around the grounds.

Ticket Taker- Scan tickets with hand-held scanning device and welcome PrideFest patrons as they enter the festival grounds

Information Booth Assistant– Assist patrons with general festival information, including grounds directions, ATM locations, restrooms, and  First Aid locations, as well as entertainment schedules, and any last minute announcements.

ID Checker – Check patron ID’s for drinkable age and issuing wrist bands. This position requires Volunteer to be 18 or older.

Dispatch Assistant – Help within the dispatch office, responding to radio calls and directing those calls to appropriate staff. This position requires STRONG communication experience.

Entertainment Assistant – Assist the Stage Manager with entertainment-related tasks on and off the various stages.

Set-up & Tear Down Helper – Assist our Production Team in setting-up and tearing down our festival. This position requires heaving lifting, upwards of 50 Ibs. (extra perks come with this position)

Food & Beverage Assistant – Assist in keeping the bars stocked with all needed supplies. Other tasks as assigned by F&B Manager. This position requires Volunteer to be 21 or older.

  • One T-Shirt to keep for all your hard work! T-shirts must not be altered, cut, dyed, stained, or altered in any form or fashion while performing the duties of a volunteer.
  • One food ticket per shift, for use with any food vendor.
  • Water and snacks provided!
  • High-fives and THANK YOU’s from the entire Milwaukee Pride Inc./PrideFest Milwaukee Leadership Team! We truly appreciate all your hard work!
What should you expect when Volunteering:
  • Orientation is a REQUIREMENT. If you’re unable to attend, you are unable to volunteer.
  • Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with a 15-minute break.
  • Parking is not included.
  • Bring comfortable shoes for walking and standing.
  • Wear appropriate, work-related, yet comfortable clothing.
  • A secure place to store your belongings will not be available. Please do not bring excessive items along during your shift.

All volunteers are expected to attend our Volunteer Orientation meeting prior to the festival and may be asked to participate in a training session with PrideFest Security Department
